Homeward Bound

The two photos of me are courtesy of Sam's photography skills using my camera~ It was a really fun train journey back to the flat though~ our kitchen is now spotless as a result just in time for both Sam and I to officially hand our keys in! He kept his intending to come back after France to tidy up until we discovered a very messy flatmate of ours was still staying there for longer than we expected..change of plan meant we talked to the office and were told we wouldn't be charged for anything after we'd handed our keys in which we're both glad to find out.

Explorations and Travels

Quick doodle of Sam's 'Ninjy' friend!

It was Sam's twentieth last Thursday so his parents invited me to go stay with them for a bit :D I had a lovely time there, spent lots of quality times with their cats; Alfie and Amber! Their garden's really lovely at the moment! Lots of colour and green grass! :D I really like the almost sundial effect created every sunny evening; It created an interesting highlight for the cats lazing above haha~ It was lovely being able to move around in a house again rather than being confined to a flat and the nights were quiet! Unheard of in a student halls haha. Today we went to Wales for the day which was stunning! It was weird suddenly seeing the signs in Welsh! We climbed to the summit of Moel Famau, which I'll admit caught me out a lot in the heat, I became a very wheezy tomato :') On reaching the top though it was definitely worth all the pain~ the views were spectacular! Such patchwork field patterns haha!

We found another Money tree ahah!

Once we'd got back from Moel Famau it was still warm enough to just chill in the garden so I took the opportunity to finish a sketch I started awhile ago before my deadlines, picture above! :) I also took more photos of Alfie (the black one) and Amber (tabby) :P They're so cute!<3

Another Stunning Sunset!

It was an absolutely stunning sunset tonight! I've never seen it so orange before! Sam's last night in the accommodation today so full steam ahead with the packing and cleaning! Mine on the other hand is living up to it's given name of 'Ground Zero' due to it being stuck in the attempting to pack it up stage :P Not the easiest thing to do packing up your entire life up in a limited supply of bags! We had a very tasty stir fry for tea and finally finished Fable, with a good ending! It feels sad coming to the end of my stay here! I'm looking forward to going to France and spending summer at home though! :D

Just wanted to share this with you quickly :) A very pastel sunset tonight, however I really like the unusual and very stark contrast between the different lighting captured in one image! It's interesting how different the cool coloured natural light is to the contrasting warmth of the artificial lighting~ It creates quite a dramatic feel in my opinion!

New Game Addiction!

Recently Sam's introduced me to another Xbox Fantasy game called Fable 3 which we can play Co-op on so I've been playing on that A LOT with him recently 0:) The graphics are so beautiful! I'm currently addicted as it's very Sims like in that you have to interact with other characters through various actions in order to make friends. It's especially fun as Sam and I can play together in one game simultaneously, we're even married! I usually run around making friends with everyone to annoy him while he constantly changes his outfits :P The costumes and characters are very cool though! We even each have our own dog who finds treasure for us! How cool are we though? ;) I love how you can battle, using either a pistol, sword or magic~ Overall it's a very cool game! We've made it our mission to finish it keeping all the promises and saving the kingdom! Apparently every time Sam's played it it's had a negative ending, so we're gonna win this time! Enjoy the screenshots below! I might've got a little carried away with trying to take cool action shots haha!

Sunny days!

summerlovin'<3

It was an absolutely gorgeous day today! And the best part? Both Sam and I were completely free to enjoy it guilt free! :D
So we ventured to our local park which was packed along the hillbanks! We found a really lovely quiet spot along the river though :)

It was so lovely to just sit and chillax, watching the birds flying freely~ Although not too long before it turned into a full fledged competition between Sam and I, as to who could get the best shot of a bird taking off or mid-air, as he studies photography professionally :P You can find some of his work here :D I've included some of my best shots below, although I'm sorry to say they're not in the best focus enlarged!

The two swans were very beautiful to watch, very elegant and graceful. Sadly, they didn't feel like posing for the classic swan heart photo for me haha!

Sam in his wonderful sunglasses :P It's always disconcerting to talk to my reflection rather than being able to look into his eyes aha!

It really was a lovely day though, we ended it outside our halls having persuaded our flatmates to join us as it was too nice to be stuck indoors~

FIN

First Year Final Assessment
I made it! I've officially completed my first year at university and am free to enjoy the summer! My last assignment has been exploring the idea of Traces and things left behind; shadows, coffee stains, hints at something etc through the use of technology and software applications such as InDesign and Adobe Photoshop. I decided to bring everything together into a book form and final prints, these are my end results, I hope you like them! Personally, my favourites are the little mini books  and the three images of my sister, which I've morphed with images of nature to create an elemental feel to them. It's been a fun year, but i'm glad I can enjoy the sunshine guilt free! Hopefully I'll be able to post a lot more personal artwork from my journals instead!
