Ygritte; Game of Thrones

'Kissed by Fire' 

'You know nothing Jon Snow' 

I'm currently a huge fan of the developing relationship between Ygritte and Jon Snow; inspiring me to start a page dedicated to this. Having had put finishing the face off for a while now, I finally persuaded myself to put pencil to paper and here's the end result. The shadings very subtle so the camera hasn't picked it up very well but I'm happy with the finish. I'm excited to start Jon Snow next, although getting organized with Uni will be a priority for the time being.

Due North!

Such gorgeous clouds! 

 They remind me of an Art Installation by Berndnaut Smilde who created an 'Indoor Cloud' series which I love. It's such a cool concept!

So after lots and lots of packing and a long long drive up North I am finally all moved in! We made a slight detour stop at Janet's on the way up for a lovely catch up and some banana muffins for breakfast before attempting to fit everything in the car..

In the morning I was able to have a quick mooch around her garden as it was too dark the night before. It was a lovely surprise to find these massive sunflowers! I've included a picture with dad in to show the sheer scale of them ahah.

It was so exciting to see our new accommodation for the year too having forgotten entirely what we'd actually signed up for last year, over summer. It was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are all very homey and spacious, although I have decidedly too much stuff..

We have  a kitchen view which is nice! 

The accommodation is so nice! Moving in has been ever so slightly hectic as it's quite a small space and we've all ended up moving in the same day. I'm looking forward to spending the next year here and making my room my own. I've started on the window sill with a moving in present of vanilla coke cans from dad and my jar of sunshine.

Copper Patina Giftbox

 After many many layers, I finally finished my giftbox for Sam's parents today as a thank you for France! The paint effect is a Copper Patina effect over embossed paper squares completed with Leonardo horse stamps in the right hand corner.The inside is again embossed and stamped with various designs. It was a lot of fun making this!

Summer Reading

Going home always has its benefits... free food, washing, cleaning, full access to the bookshelves..! This summer I took full advantage of this and raided my dad and sister's bookshelves, as well as reread a few favourites! Brandon Sanderson is a new found favourite fantasy author of mine and my dad's and now many of my friends too having introduced them to his 'Mistborn' Trilogy..if you haven't read it, I'd highly recommend it!  Over summer I had the opportunity to read his new 'Alloy of Law' and 'Elantris', the first of which was very different in style to his usual which I struggled to get into, but the latter was very good! I also had the opportunity to read the 'current reads' courtesy of my sister. Perks was surprisingly good, I enjoyed it a lot more the second time round after watching the film. I'm also a new fan of John Green whose books can only be described as thought provoking. I found Paper Towns the most interesting and despite constant weeping his 'The fault in our Stars' is very very good! 

Hello September! :)

Another new month already! I'm excited to be moving back up North to a new accommodation in less than a week! As a result I have frantically been making a lot of to do lists and proceeding to attempt to do the things on them haha. There was an absolutely stunning sunset last night, it felt like the sky was on fire!
