Macaroons!

I made a wall out of all the postcards mom and dad sent and some of my photos! 

Our parents finally came back from their holiday on Monday so Shenay and I are glad not to be fending for ourselves again haha! They went to the Lake District (very jealous, I love it there!) and by the looks of the postcards we received during the fortnight and photo slideshows after had a wonderful time! We were spoilt rotten with some lovely gifts, including some beautifully presented 'Bettys' Macaroons from Harrogate as well as some Windermere chocolate and Grasmere Gingerbread and a few other bits and bobs! Inspired, Shenay and I were very excited to attempt to make our own macaroons yesterday which resulted in some very exciting mishaps haha. Despite several interesting results, we were proud to present five perfectly beautiful macaroons! They were very tasty, so maybe with a bit of practice we'll be pros within no time!

Today I spent enjoying the intermittent moments of sunshine; I found Smudge nestled at the bottom of the garden and later our neighbouring cats in the middle of an exciting standoff ohdear. I felt in the mood for drawing this afternoon so I took the opportunity to start sketching Ygritte from Game of Thrones :) I've shared what I've finished so far~
