It was so hot today! We spent a really lovely day exploring a French town called Lagrasse, we walked down a beautiful little street filled with cafe's. We then walked down to the Abbey, which was overlooking a river, through all the crumbling streets. It was so lovely just meandering ! We also found a big square in the middle, which had shaded cover surrounded by little houses which were very pretty; There were some beautiful red roses against some of the walls! On the way down to the Abbey we found the most amazing door which had been eaten away by woodworm; it had created a decayed effect, but the colours were gorgeous, almost like fire! The walk down to the Abbey was lovely, it was all along the river. We saw a lot of swallows nesting again; I find them so fascinating; I love their nests and they dart around so quickly it's almost impossible to capture them on camera!
We then stopped off at home for some lunch and chilled in the pool for a bit before taking a drive down to the canal side, for a quick drink, as the evening was so lovely~
When we first arrived at the house we noticed this plaque on the wall by the front door which was really cool, although we're not sure what it's depicting! I noticed today though that it was very faintly coloured which I hadn't noticed before! We couldn't decide whether it was due to the recent rainfall we've had and it's reacted or whether it'd always been like that! I also found a gecko close enough to capture a photo of it close up! It was just chilling on the wall, I'm going to miss them when I go back home!
Sam taking up the classic 'photographers' pose haha~ we must have spent an hour trying to capture the swallows flitting across the sky! They were so fast! I did manage to capture the sunset reflected on the shutters, creating a stunning gold shimmer effect!
