Day 9- Pezenas Market and Saint Guilerme

Today we went to a really lovely market in Pezenas! It was very colourful and busy! I really liked the bags in the top left hand corner of the photo above; I thought they were very cute and original! The town itself was another beautiful French town, filled with colour; especially as we had visited during their festival period! There were lots of cute little independent art stores and we bumped into the scary looking character below on the way! I was too scared to take a photo of him from the front in case he started talking to us, so I took a cheeky one after they'd passed haha~ It was very eccentric! Later we bumped into them again in the market square, but they started a scripted dialogue so I was able to take some more photos without fear.
The bird on the sign below, I'm excited to admit is one we saw when we first moved into the house here! It flew right across the garden several times! We think it might be a woodpecker, it's very beautiful! The caveman made me laugh too as it was an interesting equivalent to our shiny 'statues' back home! I enjoyed walking around Pezenas very much! On the way back we stopped off at the side of the road for a picnic (not wanting a repeat of the car park incident), which was very pretty! We finally found a sausage roll in the stores, which, although not Greggs standard, were very yummy! It was very reminiscent of my family picnics too, although it seemed to be considered unusual for Sam's family haha~

After lunch we drove to the most gorgeous little village nestled beneath the rocks called Saint Guilherme! I think it's another favourite, along the lines of Carcassonne, but it was filled with little craft shops~ It was so lovely walking around them all, and a nice surprise to find a waterfall hidden at the end; it was a very picturesque little village! I even made a little bird friend on the way back!<3

Love this balcony!
